ABOUT Mumbai's Tawa pulao RECIPE

This is masterchef sanjeev kapoor's recipe with changes of my own n it's amazingly tasty.It's a side dish usually served with pao bhaji, spicy and very flavorful. Alone too it serves as a complete meal with a glass of buttermilk.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Oil 2 tbsp
  2. Butter 2 tbsp
  3. 1 cup of chopped veggies like onion, capsicum, carrot and tomato
  4. Coriander leaves 2 tbsp
  5. Wet garlic chutney 1 tsp or as per taste
  6. 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  7. 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  8. 1/4 tsp dhania powder
  9. 1 tsp pavbhaji masala
  10. 1 big bowl basmati rice cooked with green peas
  11. 1 tsp lime juice
  12. salt as per taste
  13. 1/2 chopped tomato

Instructions

  1. Heat oil and butter in a shallow pan. Add chopped veggies to it. Saute for a few mins. Add garlic chutney and all the dry spices. Mix well.
  2. Add rice to it along with salt, lime juice, coriander leaves n half of chopped tomato. Mix well. Cook for a min on high flame. Serve hot topped with the left tomato, coriander leaves and a blob of butter on top. It goes well with pao bhaji and a glass of buttermilk
