Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Whole green moon - 300 gms
  2. Onion - 1 medium size
  3. Onion - 3 to 4 chopped finely
  4. Green chillies - 4
  5. Ginger - 1/2 inch
  6. Garlic - 4 to 5 flakes
  7. Tomatoe - 1
  8. Cumin Seeds - 1 Tsp
  9. For the tomatoe chutney :
  10. Onions - 2
  11. Tomatoes - 4
  12. Green Chilli - 1 or 2
  13. Red chilli - 2 or 3
  14. Dhania - 1 tsp
  15. Cumin - 1/2 tsp

Instructions

  1. Soak the whole moong overnight.
  2. Wash and grind it in the morning along with 1 chopped onion, tomato, cumin seeds, ginger, garlic, green chillies, salt and some water.
  3. On a non stick medium hot tawa, pour a ladle of batter and evenly spread it from the centre to the edges.
  4. Sprinkle a fistful of chopped onions.
  5. Sprinkle a few drops of oil and let it get a nice roast.
  6. Fold it to one side and remove.
  7. Serve hot.
  8. For the tomatoe chutney :
  9. Take some oil
  10. Add cumin and dhania seeds
  11. Stir, then add in the green chilli and red chillies
  12. Add some hing
  13. Now add the onions
  14. Stir till translucent
  15. Add the tomatoes, salt, stir and cover till tender
  16. Now cool it and grind
  17. Can temper with mustard seeds and curry leaves
  18. Enjoy this chutney with any dosas or idlis.
