ABOUT Masala Aloo Paratha RECIPE

Aloo patatha is a all time delicious Indian stuffed bread recipe. Here I use some masala to enhance its taste.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. To make dough:
  2. 8 tbsp wheat flour/Atta
  3. 9 tbsp moida/ white flour
  4. 3 tbsp refined oil
  5. 1/4 tsp Salt
  6. 1 tsp sugar
  7. For stuffing:
  8. 2 medium size boiled potatoes
  9. 1 LARGE ONION CHOPPED
  10. 2 green chillies chopped
  11. 1 tsp Ginger Chopped
  12. 2 tbsp coriander leaves chopped
  13. 1/2 tsp Cumin powder
  14. 1/2 tsp coriander powder
  15. 1/2 tsp dry mango powder
  16. 1/2 tsp garam masala powder
  17. Salt according to taste
  18. For frying:
  19. 5 tbsp Butter

Instructions

  1. To make dough: Shift all the ingredients (except 1 tbsp of moida) for making dough into a large bowl. Incrementally add water in small quantities to make a smooth and soft dough. Keep aside for 1/2 hour.
  2. To make stuffing: add all the ingredients for stuffing into an another bowl and mash it until no chunks of potato.
  3. Divide the prepar dough into 10 portion give them round shape and press a little to flatten like pattie.
  4. Place 1 pattie on palm of hand, pressing centre to form a cup shape and put 1 tsp stuffing in centre.
  5. Wrap the stuffing by lifting all sides of the pattie towards the top. Seal the edges again give it to flatten round shape.
  6. Dust some dry flour over it and roll it out into a circle like roti or chapati.
  7. Place it on a hot tava on medium flame.
  8. When tiny bubbles start to rise on the surface flip it and reduce the flame to low.
  9. Spread 1/2 tsp of butter around its edge and cook for about 30 seconds.
  10. Flip it again and spread 1/2 tsp butter around its edge.
  11. Press it with spatula and cook for 30 seconds over medium flame.
  12. Repeat flip and press process until golden brown spot appears on both sides of paratha.
  13. Transfer it into a casserole.
  14. Prepare the remaining paratha in the same way.
  15. Serve hot with mixed pickle and any preparation of paneer or chicken.
