Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. 750 gram chicken
  2. 3 tbsp hung curd
  3. 5 medium size onion sliced
  4. 3 garlic finely chopped
  5. 1 tsp ginger pest
  6. 1/2 tsp cumin powder
  7. 1/2 tsp coriander powder
  8. 1 tsp kashmiri red chilli powder
  9. 1/2 tsp garam masala powder
  10. 5 tbsp rich tomato sauce
  11. Salt according to the taste
  12. 5 tbsp refined oil
  13. 1 tbsp coriander leaves finely chopped
  14. For tempering:
  15. 2 dry red chillies
  16. 2 bay leaves
  17. 2 cinnamon sticks
  18. 4 cardamom lightly crushed

Instructions

  1. Add hung curd to the washed chicken and marinate for 2 hours.
  2. Heat oil in a kadhai and add all the ingredients for tempering.
  3. Add sliced onion, finely chopped garlic and fry till it is golden brown.
  4. Make a pest of cumin powder, coriander powder, kashmiri red chilli powder, ginger pest and add it to kadhai.
  5. Mix well.
  6. Add marinated chicken.
  7. Add salt according to taste.
  8. Mix well and cover it on a medium-low heat until all the moisture has been removed. Stir occasionally.
  9. Add 3 tbsp of tomato sauce and mix well.
  10. Add 2 cup of hot water and again cover it for 10 minutes on medium-high heat.
  11. When the gravy is thickened, add garam masala powder, 2 tbsp tomato sauce.
  12. Mix well and turn off the gas.
  13. Sprinkle the chopped coriander leaves and serve it.
