ABOUT My granny's veggie prawn RECIPE

It is a very traditional dish, Often prepared by my grandmother. Tasty one and can be used as main dish with rice.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Medium size Prawns - 1 cup
  2. Bottle gourd cubes (peeled) - 1 cup
  3. Carrot cubes - 1cup
  4. Onion - 2 nos
  5. Tomato - 2 nos
  6. Green chilli - 3 nos
  7. Curry leaves
  8. Ginger and garlic paste - 1/4 tbsp
  9. Tumeric power - 1/4 tbsp
  10. Chilli powder - 1 tbsp
  11. Cumin seed
  12. Mustard
  13. Oil - 2 tbsp
  14. Salt for taste

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in the pan.Add mustard and cumin seeds.Allow it to splutter.Saute the finely chopped onion, sliced green chillies and curry leaves until the onion turns golden brown.
  2. Now add the Ginger garlic paste and then add finely chopped tomatoes. Add turmeric powder, chilli powder and salt.Saute until the oil comes out.
  3. Add prawns, bottle gourd and carrot saute it well.Add some water.
  4. Close the pan with a lid.Cook them with a slow flame.When all the veggies and prawn is done off the pan.
  5. A simple traditional veggie prawn is ready.Serve hot with plain rice and chapatis.
