ABOUT Hershey's Butterscotch Pista Sandesh RECIPE

Bengali style Sandesh with the twist . I have used Hershey's butterscotch chips to give them a different flavour and a more creamy taste with pista powder , which made them unique .

Ingredients Serving: 8

  1. Chena 1 cup
  2. Hershey's butter Scotch chips 1/2 cup
  3. Roasted pistachio powder 1/2 cup
  4. Green cardamom powder 1 tsp
  5. Powdered sugar 1/2 cup
  6. Mawa 1/2 cup
  7. Milk 1/3 cup

Instructions

  1. Make coarse powder of Hershey's butterscotch chips . Keep aside
  2. Mix together 1/2 cup of chena , 1/4 cup of mawa , butterscotch chips powder and 1/4 cup powdered sugar and grind to a smooth paste without adding any liquid. Keep aside .
  3. Heat 1 table spoon ghee in a nonstick pan
  4. Add the ground chena mixture , stir continuously until the mixture forms a dough in low heat . The mixture will be thickened and moist but not completely dry . Add 1/4 tea spoon cardamom powder
  5. Make small balls out of them when mixture gets cool down little. Cover with a moist cloth .
  6. We will make another dough in the same process but with pistachio powder. Mix 1/2 cup of chena , 1/4 cup of mawa , 1 /4 cup of powdered sugar and 1/2 cup of roasted pistachio powder . Grind to a smooth mixture.
  7. Heat 1 table spoon ghee in the nonstick pan , add the pistachio mixture . Stir and mix in low heat for 2_3 minutes . Add milk and mix again . When the mixture thickened take off heat and mix 1/4 tea spoon cardamom powder.
  8. Make small size balls .
  9. Grease a sandesh mould with ghee
  10. Press 1 Butterscotch ball and pistachio ball together , rub with some ghee .
  11. Remove from the mould carefully . Keep them in the freeze fir 30 minutes
  12. Store in an airtight container inside freeze . Shelf life is 10 days.
