This recipe is very easy to prepare and taste amazing. It is being prepared in many households as a side dish. Carom leaves are available throughout year and consumed every day in the form of pakora. Carom seeds are used in many recipes for flavor. It has lots of medicinal values which makes carom seeds healthy option while preparing recipes.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Carom Leaves – 14-15
  2. Gram Flour / Besan – 1 cup
  3. Red chilli powder – ½ tsp
  4. Garam masala – 1tsp
  5. Asafoetida – 1/2 tsp
  6. Oil for Frying
  7. Salt to taste.
  8. Water to make thick batter

Instructions

  1. Wash, pat dry carom leaves.
  2. In a bowl, take gram flour, asafoetida, salt, red chili powder and garam masala. Mix well.
  3. Add water slowly at a time and make thick batter.
  4. Heat oil in a pan or wok.
  5. Dip carom leaves into the batter, coat properly from all the sides and fry on a low- medium flame until golden and crisp.
  6. Serve hot with dal rice or any dip or chutney.
