Very easy - Quick - tasty dish with a touch of Biryani flavour

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Potatoes medium (03)
  2. Onions medium (02)
  3. Tomato medium (01)
  4. Basmati rice - 1 cup
  5. Garlic - 4 cloves
  6. coriander leaves chopped - 1 bunch
  7. Ginger - 2 cloves
  8. Green chilli - 4 medium
  9. Bay leaf - 1 small
  10. Cinnamon - 2-3 small
  11. Elachi - 2 small
  12. Shahi Zeera - 1tsp
  13. Garam masala - 1tsp
  14. Coriander powder -1tsp
  15. Chat masala - 1tsp
  16. Ajinomoto - pinch
  17. Ghee - 2 table spoons
  18. Oil for fry - 2 table spoons
  19. Salt as per requirement

Instructions

  1. Boil the basmati rice and after boiling, spread the rice in a big plate with fork and let it cool.
  2. Take a deep pan with some oil heated, fry the potatoes(chopped)till crispy, take out and keep it aside.
  3. In the same pan, add some oil, shahi Zeera, bayleaf, cinnamon, elaichi, sauté. Now add onions and sauté till translucent.
  4. In a Small Mixie Jar, add green chillies, garlic&ginger chopped, tomatoes slit long, coriander leaves washed bunch, add garam masala, salt 1tsp, coriander powder, chat masala, ajinomoto and grind it to make a fine green paste. Do not add water.
  5. Now add this paste to the pan along with onions and saute till 2min, cover the pan with a lid till 3min for it to lose the raw flavour.
  6. Now add the basmati rice and mix finely with adding some salt to taste, add the fried potatoes, mix well without any lumps. Add some ghee and continue to mix.
  7. Add coriander leaves for garnish.
  8. It's ready!!! Serve it with raita.
