ABOUT Braided Bread RECIPE

Ingredients Serving: 8

  1. 4 cups All Purpose Flour
  2. 1 tbsp sugar
  3. 2 tesp yeast
  4. 4 tbsp Butter
  5. 1 1/2 tesp salt
  6. 2 Eggs
  7. 3 /4 cup warm water
  8. Sesame seeds 1 tesp
  9. I egg yolk +1 tesp water

Instructions

  1. In a bowl add sugar ,yeast and water let set for 10 minutes
  2. To this add all purpose flour,salt,eggs,and butter
  3. Mix and knead for 10 minutes to a soft dough
  4. Make a ball of the dough brush some oil and place on a oiled bowl covered with plastic wrap ,to double in size
  5. Punch the dough and divide to 3 equal parts
  6. Roll each into a strand 14" long
  7. Place on a lined baking tray
  8. Braid the strands tucking the ends under,set aside to rise.
  9. Preheat oven 180℃ for 10 minutes
  10. In a bowl beat egg yolk and water
  11. Brush the braided bread with the egg mixture,and sprinkle sesame seeds
  12. Bake at 180℃ for 30 minutes
  13. Remove & brush with the remaining egg mixture and place back into the oven increasing the temperature,on broil mode ,till it's golden brown
  14. Remove apply butter let cool completely before slicing
