ABOUT French Crepe with Chocolate Sauce and Vanilla Icecream.... RECIPE

A Classic French dessert that is loved by many across the globe. It is a perfect pick at iftaar for all those who have a sweet tooth. It is a rich one due to the addition of ice cream and chocolate sauce and hence satisfies your tastebuds thoroughly. Enjoy this lovely dessert at iftaar or any kids party too. Kids will love this ice cream and chocolate combo for sure. You can also serve these crepes with fresh cream and seasonal fruits, skipping chocolate and use just about anything to go with them. Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. FOR THE CREPE BATTER ; All purpose flour 1 cup
  2. Eggs 4
  3. Milk 1 1/2 cups
  4. Canola oil 2 tbsp
  5. Salt 1/4th tsp
  6. FOR THE SAUCE ; Chocolate chips 3/4th cup
  7. Sugar 1/4th cup
  8. Heavy cream 1/2 cup
  9. Vanilla Icecream 1 litre
  10. Hazelnuts finely chopped 1/4 cup

Instructions

  1. Place eggs in a blender along with salt, milk oil and flour.
  2. Blend until smooth.
  3. Heat a non stick pan on a medium high heat.
  4. Place a small amount of oil on a paper towel and rub it on the surface of the pan.
  5. Pour in 1/4th of the crepe batter and quickly swirl it around until it covers the entire surface of the pan.
  6. Cover and cook for 2 minutes or so until it looks set in the centre.
  7. Loosen the edges with a spatula and flip the crepe over.
  8. Cook for 1 more minute until lightly browned.
  9. Remove it from the pan. Repeat with the same process of rubbing oil on the surface of the pan with a paper towel each time until you finish making all of them.
  10. To make the sauce, place the chocolate chips, sugar and cream in a small saucepan and cook on a low heat by stirring it for 5 minutes or so.
  11. After the chocolate is melted and the sugar dissolved, remove it from the heat.
  12. For serving, fold two crepe with scoops of vanilla ice cream inside and chocolate sauce drizzled over on top.
  13. Sprinkle chopped nuts on top and serve it right away.
  14. This yummy dessert makes for a perfect pick at iftaar.
