Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Ingredient : For dough -
  2. Rice flour - 2 cups
  3. Salt to taste
  4. Water to mix
  5. Oil - 2 tablespoon
  6. Tempering -
  7. Mustard Seeds - 1 tablespoon
  8. Urad Daal - 1 tablespoon
  9. Curry leaves - a few
  10. Hing - 1 tablespoon
  11. Grated Coconut - 2 tablespoon
  12. Idly powder mix - 2 tablespoon or to taste.

Instructions

  1. Take rice flour, salt and water in a bowl, mix well.
  2. Add oil and mix well. Keep aside for 10 minutes when the dough is formed. Make small balls using the dough, Steam the balls in a steamer for 15 minutes.
  3. Keep aside.Heat some oil in a pan, put mustard seeds, urad daal and curry leaves in the pan.
  4. When the seeds start crackling, put add the steamed Kozhatakai and mix well, keep it on midium flame till golden brown. Add idly powder mix well. Keep on frying till it becomes crispy, add more oil if needed.
  5. Aamni kozhakatai is ready to be served with hot cup of Tea/Coffee.
