ABOUT EGG TIKKA KEBAB RECIPE

Usually the word Tikka mostly reminds us either of chicken or fish or paneer but today I am going to experiment with a new kind of Tikka that is EGG TIKKA KEBAB.Almost all of us irrespective of ages love eggs and tikkas made of egg came out as an awesome savoury when I tried it for the first time.So,I can't resist myself from sharing the recipe with you.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Boiled eggs - 4
  2. Onions (cubed layers separated)-½ cup
  3. Capsicum/ bell peppers (green or red cubed)- ½ cup
  4. Butter - 2teaspoon
  5. Fresh lemon juice - 2tablespoon
  6. Chaat masala - 2teaspoon
  7. For marination: Hung curd/yogurt - ½ cup
  8. Ginger-garlic paste-1 ½ teaspoon
  9. Cumin powder- 1teaspoon
  10. Coriander powder - 1teaspoon
  11. Chilli powder - ¾ teaspoon
  12. Kashmiri mirch powder- 1tablespoon
  13. Black salt - 1 pinch
  14. Black pepper powder - 1tablespoon
  15. Lemon juice - 1tablespoon
  16. Special garam masala or tandoori masala- ¾ teaspoon
  17. Turmeric powder - ⅛ teaspoon
  18. Bengal gram flour- 2tablespoon
  19. salt to taste
  20. Oil - 1 teaspoon
  21. For Special Garam Masala/tandoori masala: Cardamom - 4
  22. Cinnamon - 1 inch
  23. Clove - 4
  24. Peppercorn -8
  25. Nutmeg(jayfal) -1
  26. Mace(jayitri)- 3-4 blades
  27. Star anise - 1
  28. Bay leaf-2
  29. Fennel seed -2 teaspoon

Instructions

  1. Firstly,heat a shallow frying pan and take the ingredients mentioned for Special Garam Masala or Tandoori Masala.Put them into the pan and dry fry till the fragrance comes out.
  2. Let it cool properly.
  3. Then take a blender jar and put the fried spices together to make a masala powder.
  4. Once,the masala powder is ready,use it proportionately to the Tikka and store rest of it in an air tight container for the future use.
  5. Cut the boiled eggs into two halves.
  6. Now,marinate egg pieces and veggies with the marination ingredients mentioned above & refrigerate them for 1hour.
  7. Heat oil in a wide pan,place marinated egg pieces along with veggies;grease them with butter after every 1 or 2 minutes & cook till the marinade dries up and it turns golden.
  8. Once the marination dries up turn off the flame.
  9. Serve Egg Tikka Kebab hot with chaat masala,fresh lemon juice and different types of sauces or condiments.
