Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Plaintain flower - 1
  2. Onion - 1 chopped
  3. Coconut - 2 pieces (grinded)
  4. Green chilli -1
  5. Toor dal - 50 gm or more
  6. Ginger garlic paste- 1tsp
  7. Curry masala powder - 2tsp
  8. Salt - to taste
  9. Coariander leaves - few
  10. To temper:
  11. Oil
  12. Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
  13. U. Dhal - 1tsp
  14. Onion - 1(chopped)
  15. Curry leaves - few
  16. Red chillies

Instructions

  1. BEFORE CLEANING THE FLOWER APPLY SOME OIL ON YOUR HAND
  2. REMOVE THE LAYER OF BRACTS, INNER PARTS( CALYX & PISTIL) , TOUGH COVERS AS SHOWN
  3. CUT THE FLOWER JUST FEW MINS BEFORE COOKING
  4. ONCE CUT PUT IMMEDIATELY IN THE RICE SOAKED WATER (SAVE THIS WATER BEFOREHAND WHILE COOKING RICE)
  5. DRAIN THE WATER AND PUT IT IN THE VESSEL
  6. ADD WATER & SALT, ALLOW IT TO BOIL FOR FIVE MINUTES
  7. NOW STRAIN THE WATER. U CAN DRINK THIS ASTRIGENT WATER DIRECTLY OR USE FOR SOUP PREP. AS ITS HEALTHY
  8. ADD 2 TSP OF CURRY MASALA POWDER TO THE COOKED DHAL
  9. ADD GREEN CHILLIES
  10. ADD CHOPPED ONION, ONE TSP OF GINGER GARLIC PASTE
  11. ADD BOILED PLAINTAIN FLOWER
  12. COOK IT ( 1 WHISTLE)
  13. ADD SALT,MIX IT WELL
  14. ADD GRINDED COCONUT, COOK IT UNTIL THE RAW SMELL OF COCONUT GOES
  15. TO TEMPER, ADD OIL, MUSTARD SEEDS, URAD DAL IN A VESSEL
  16. ADD TWO RED CHILLIES
  17. ADD CURRY LEAVES, CHOPPED ONION
  18. NOW ADD THE COOKED VAZHAIPOO PARUPU TO IT
  19. ADD FEW COARIANDER LEAVES
