ABOUT Carrot Idli RECIPE

Idli is garnished with grated carrot and steamed well. It gives good aroma and taste. It is good for health.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 2 cup dosa rice
  2. 1/2 cup split urad dal
  3. Salt to taste
  4. Water
  5. 1 cup grated carrot
  6. 1/4 cup cooking oil for greasing

Instructions

  1. 6 HOURS SOAKED URAD DAL AND RICE
  2. ADD SALT AND WATER, GRIND COARSELY
  3. SHOULDN'T GRIND SMOOTHLY
  4. POUR THE BATTER INTO A VESSEL, CLOSE THE LID AND LET IT BE FERMENTATION OVERNIGHT
  5. CHECK THE FERMENTATION, MIX WELL
  6. ADD FEW DROPS OF OIL TO IDLI MOULDS
  7. POUR THE BATTER IN THE IDLI MOULDS
  8. ADD SOME GRATED CARROTS ON THE TOP
  9. PRESS IT, PLACE THE MOULDS IN THE STEAMER
  10. CLOSE THE LID AND STEAM THEM FOR 20-25 MINUTES ( IT CHANGES DEPENDING ON COOKING VESSEL)
  11. AFTER LITTLE COOL, REMOVE
  12. REMOVE ALL AND SERVE
