ABOUT Pepper Jeera Rice RECIPE

This is a simple variety of tempered rice that can be even give for tiffin lunches with just a side dish.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Rice 1/2 Cup / Left over Rice
  2. Pepper powder 1 tbsp
  3. Jeera [cumin seeds] 1 tbsp
  4. Salt
  5. For seasoning : Ghee
  6. Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
  7. Hing [asafoetida] - 1/2 tsp
  8. Split Urad dal - 1 tsp
  9. Groundnuts - 2 tbsp
  10. curry leaves - 10
  11. For garnishing :
  12. Roasted Cashew nuts in ghee - 10
  13. Roasted Dry grapes [raisins] in ghee - 10

Instructions

  1. DRY ROAST 1 TBSP PEPPER AND JEERA AND GRIND THEM TO COARSE POWDER
  2. ADD GHEE. ADD MUSTARD
  3. WHEN MUSTARD CRACKS ADD URAD DAL, GROUNDNUT AND HING.
  4. ADD PEPPER JEERA POWDER
  5. ADD CURRY LEAVES AND SALT. MIX WELL
  6. ADD RICE OR POHA
  7. GARNISH WITH ROASTED CASHEW AND DRY GRAPES
