Its a Lovely irresistible combination, make it on a special occasion for special people. Kids would love to break open the tart just like mine and enjoy having the Phirni.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Semi dark chocolate - 1 cup
  2. Butter - 1 tbsp
  3. For the Phirni :
  4. Milk - 1 lt
  5. Sugar - 1 cup
  6. Long grain basmati rice - 2 tbsp
  7. Blanched nuts - 3tbsps
  8. (almonds and pista)
  9. Saffron - 9 to 10 strands
  10. Cardamon powder - 1tsp

Instructions

  1. BLANCH NUTS IN MICROWAVE FOR 2 TO 3 MINUTES
  2. SOAK THE LONG GRAIN BASMATI RICE IN SUFFICIENT WATER
  3. MELT THE DARK CHOCOLATE IN A DOUBLE BOILER
  4. ADD A TBSP OF BUTTER FOR A SHINY GLAZE
  5. SPOON IN SILICON MOULDS COAT WELL AND FREEZE FOR 10 MINUTES OR MORE
  6. GRIND THE SOAKED BASMATI RICE WITH 2 TO 3 TSPS OF MILK
  7. SMOOTH RICE PASTE
  8. KEEP MILK TO BOIL. ADD HOT MILK TO THE SAFFRON STRANDS AND LEAVES ASIDE
  9. AS THE MILK BOILS ADD THE RICE PASTE AND STIR SIMULTANEOUSLY ON LOW HEAT COOK FOR 2 MINUTES
  10. ADD THE SAFFRON MILK AND THE CHOPPED BLANCHED NUTS
  11. ADD SUGAR AND MIX WELL
  12. COOK FOR 2 TO 3 MINUTES AND SEE THE LOVELY COOKED PHIRNI
  13. UNMOULD THE CHOCOLATE CUPS. SPOON IN THE COOLED PHIRNI
  14. COVER WITH MELTED CHOCOLATE
  15. GARNISH WITH SOME MORE CHOPPED NUTS AND KEEP IN THE REFRIGERATOR TILL SET
  16. RELISH THE YUM PHIRNI FROM THE CHOCOLATE TART CUPS!
