Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Ingredients for Bhallla:
  2. Split Black Gram 1 cup
  3. Water to soak the Dal
  4. Water a bowlful to soak the Bhalla
  5. Salt to taste
  6. Cumin powder 1tsp
  7. Corriander powder 1tsp
  8. Cumin seeds 1/2 ysp
  9. Assembling the Bhalla:
  10. Yogurt 3 cups
  11. Milk 1/4
  12. Sweet Tamarind chutney As needed
  13. Cumin powder to taste
  14. Red chilli powder to taste
  15. Salt to taste
  16. Plain boondi (optipnal) 1/3 cup

Instructions

  1. SOAK 1 CUP SPLIT BLACK GRAM OVERNIGHT. WASH IT 3-4 TIMES AND REMOVE THE SKIN.
  2. BLEND DAL WITH A LITTE WATER. ADD 1 TSP EACH OF CUMIN, CORIANDER AND SALT.
  3. WHISK THIS BATTER FOR 5-10 MINS.
  4. HEAT AN APPE PAN. ADD FEW DROPS OF OIL IN EACH CAVITY.
  5. LOWER THE HEAT AND POUR THE BATTER.
  6. COVER AND COOK ON MEDIUM FLAME FOR 3-4 MINS.
  7. IN BETWEEN, TURN THE BHALLES CAREFULLY.
  8. SOAK THE BHALLES IN HOT WATER FOR 10 MINS.
  9. SQUEEZE WATER AND PLACE IN A SERVING BOWL.
  10. POUR CURD AS REQUIRED
  11. SPRINKLE 1 TSP EACH OF RED CHILLI POWDER ,CUMIN POWDER AND SALT.
