Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Paneer cubes 150 grams
  2. Onion 1 big sized finely chopped
  3. Ginger finely chopped 1 teaspoon
  4. Butter unsalted a dollop
  5. Tomatoes big ripe 2 puréed
  6. Salt 2 teaspoons or as preferred
  7. Cumin powder coarsely crushed 1 teaspoon
  8. Dry mango powder 1.5 teaspoons
  9. Coriander powder 1 teaspoon
  10. Red chilly powder 1 teaspoon
  11. Green cardamom powder 1/4 teaspoon
  12. Dried fenugreek leaves crushed 1 tablespoon
  13. Fresh cream 1 tablespoon
  14. Scallions finely chopped 1 tablespoon
  15. Cilantros finely chopped for garnishing

Instructions

  1. Heat a iron tawa. Melt 1 dollop butter in medium heat .
  2. Add a teaspoon finely chopped ginger. Sauté until golden brown .
  3. Add 1 big sized onion finely chopped . Sauté until light brown .
  4. Add 2 teaspoons salt while sautéing the onions .
  5. Add 1.5 teaspoon dry mango powder to the sautéed onions .
  6. Add 1 teaspoon coriander powder .
  7. Add 1 teaspoon coarsely crushed cumin powder .
  8. Sauté the dry powders for 20 seconds . Then add thick purée of 2 big red ripe tomatoes .
  9. Mix the purée well . I didn’t add water as it wasn’t needed . Add water only really needed.
  10. Add 1 teaspoon red chilly powder .
  11. Mix and allow the masala to bubble up . Add a tablespoon crushed dried fenugreek leaves .
  12. Add 1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder .
  13. Mix all together . Cook until there is some rich change in the color .Add 1 tablespoon fresh cream.
  14. Simmer the flame . Mix the cream completely in the masala . Add 150 grams paneer cubes .
  15. Mix and coat the paneer cubes gently with the masala . Cook in low heat for 3 minutes .
  16. When you achieve the required semi dry consistency , garnish with tablespoon of chopped scallions .
  17. and chopped cilantros .Tawa Paneer Masala is ready to serve. Enjoy this finger licking paneer dish.
