Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. For Halwa
  2. 1 cup sugar
  3. 1 cup water
  4. half cup custard powder
  5. 4 tablespoons of cashews +additional to garnish
  6. 2 tbsp ghee
  7. For Roti
  8. one and a half cup wheat flour
  9. half cup maida
  10. salt to taste
  11. 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  12. 2 teaspoon oil
  13. half cup curd
  14. water as required
  15. 4 tbsp ghee/butter
  16. For Fish tikka masala
  17. 500g Fish Fillet cut into cubes
  18. For Marination
  19. 4 tbsp yoghurt
  20. salt to taste
  21. one teaspoon lemon juice
  22. one teaspoon ginger garlic paste
  23. one teaspoon red chilli powder
  24. one teaspoon fish masala/garam masala
  25. 1/4 tsp crushed kasuri methi
  26. For Gravy
  27. 2 tomatoes roughly chopped
  28. 4 tbsp cashews
  29. 3-4 tbsp oil
  30. two onions finely chopped
  31. 2 green chillies slit
  32. one teaspoon ginger garlic paste
  33. 1-2 tbsp cream
  34. 1/4 teaspoon crushed kasuri methi
  35. one teaspoon red chilli powder
  36. one teaspoon Garam Masala
  37. half teaspoon fennel powder
  38. 1 tbsp coriander powder
  39. salt to taste
  40. 1 cup water
  41. half teaspoon jeera
  42. 3 tbsp chopped coriander leaves

Instructions

  1. IN A BOWL, WHISK SUGAR, WATER AND CUSTARD POWDER WELL UNTIL THERE ARE NO LUMPS
  2. MELT GHEE IN A PAN AND FRY CASHEWS
  3. POUR CUSTARD MIXTURE AND STIR CONSTANTLY ON LOW MEDIUM HEAT
  4. STIR UNTIL MIXTURE LEAVES SIDES OF THE PAN AND IS GLOSSY IN TEXTURE. ALLOW TO COOL
  5. POUR THE MIXTURE IB GREASED MOULD AND REFRIGERATE FOR 1-2 HOURS
  6. IN A BOWL, MIX ALL MARINATING INGREDIENTS WELL
  7. ADD FISH FILLET, MARINATE AND KEEP IT ASIDE FOR 30 MINUTES
  8. PLACE FISH FILLET ON GREASED GRILL PAN, GRILL FROM ALL SIDES
  9. KEEP GRILLED FISH ASIDE
  10. GRIND TOMATOES AND CASHEWS TO FORM A PUREE
  11. HEAT OIL IN A PAN AND SPLUTTER CUMIN SEEDS
  12. ADD ONIONS AND SAUTE UNTIL BROWNED
  13. ADD GINGER GARLIC PASTE AND GREEN CHILLIES, SAUTE UNTIL RAW AROMA GOES AWAY
  14. ADD SPICE POWDERS AND SALT. MIX WELL
  15. ADD GROUND PUREE, SAUTE UNTIL OIL STARTS LEAVING SIDES
  16. ADD WATER AND BRING TO BOIL
  17. ADD FISH TIKKA, GENTLY MIX AND COOK FOR 2-3 MINUTES
  18. ADD KASURI METHI, CREAM AND GENTLY MIX. GARNISH WITH CORIANDER LEAVES BEFORE SERVING
  19. IN A BOWL, MIX FLOURS, SALT AND BAKING SODA
  20. ADD CURD, WATER AND 1 TSP OIL. KNEAD FOR 10 MINUTES TO FORM A SOFT DOUGH
  21. COAT WITH OIL. COVER AND KEEP IT ASIDE FOR 30 MINUTES
  22. KNEAD DOUGH FOR 3-4 MINUTES. DIVIDE IT INTO EQUAL PORTIONS
  23. ROLL BALL INTO THICK ROTI
  24. GENEROUSLY BRUSH WITH WATER
  25. FLIP AND PLACE ON HOT TAWA. PRESS ROTI ON TAWA
  26. FLIP AND COOK ROTI DIRECTLY ON FLAME UNTIL DONE ON MEDIUM HEAT
  27. BRUSH TOP WITH GHEE/BUTTER. SCRAPE GENTLY AND KEEP IT ASIDE
  28. DEMOULD THE SWEET ON SERVING PLATE. GARNISH WITH CASHEWS
  29. SERVE IMMEDIATELY
