Heat a kadhai, add refined oil then add the chopped onions and fry till they turn golden brown in colour.
Add the tomatoes, followed by the ginger-garlic paste and all the spices with a little salt. Cook on a low flame till the masala leaves the oil.
Add the prawns and cook it covered with a lid till the prawns are cooked.
Finally add coconut milk and sugar, bring it to boil till you achieve the required thick consistency and serve.
