ABOUT Prawn Malai Curry RECIPE

Prawn Malai Curry is an Indian flavor Seafood, Malai means cream in this recipe creaminess in curry which we get using a coconut milk.prawns are deveined clean and cook in aromatic Indian spices with coconut milk and Serve with Steamed Rice.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. prawns 1kg /2lb
  2. For Marination
  3. Turmeric 1 tsp
  4. Red chilli powder 1 /2 tsp
  5. Lime Juice 1 tsp
  6. Salt 1/2 tsp
  7. FOR CURRY
  8. Onion sliced 2
  9. cooking oil 2 tbsp + 2 tsp
  10. Garlic Cloves 8
  11. Ginger 1 "
  12. Green chilli 2
  13. Red chilli powder 2 tsp
  14. Coriander powder 1/2 tbsp
  15. Cumin powder 1 tsp
  16. Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
  17. Garam masala powder 1 tsp
  18. Salt to taste
  19. Coconut Milk 1 Cup
  20. water 1/ 2 cup

Instructions

  1. Clean the prawns and marinate with above-mentioned ingredients & keep aside for 10-15 minutes. .Prepare a paste adding onion, ginger, garlic and green chilies in a grinder jar.
  2. Heat 2tsp Oil in a kadai or pan and cook prawns turning both sides and drain on a paper towel and keep aside
  3. more oil add the paste of onion, garlic, ginger& greenchilli then cook it on medium flame for 4-5 minutes or till raw smell goes off
  4. Add remaining spices and salt mentioned for curry & cook till start leaving oil then add coconut milk and 1/2 cup of water and bring it to boi
  5. add cooked prawns and Allow it to cook for 5-6 minutes.on a medium heat, Turn off the flame and serve with Steamed rice
