Ukadiche Modak is very very popular Maharashtrian Dish . ukadishe Modka prepared during Ganesha festival- Ganesha's Prashad. (Its very testy)

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. Ghee 1ts
  2. Greated fresh coconut 1/2 cup
  3. Poppy seeds 1 ts
  4. Water 1/2cup
  5. Salt to test
  6. Dry fruits 2 ts
  7. Rice flour 1/2 ts
  8. Cardamom powder 1/4 ts
  9. Jaggery 1/4 cup

Instructions

  1. Heat a pan on medium heat
  2. Add Ghee , poppy seeds and dry fruits
  3. Roast the poppy seeds and dry fruits well
  4. Add fresh coconut and cook for 2 minutes
  5. Add jaggery mix well
  6. Cook for 5 minutes
  7. Switch off the gas and add Cardamom powder mix well
  8. For covering
  9. Heat water on medium heat and salt Ghee
  10. Let the water boil
  11. Turn off the heat and add rice flour
  12. Mix well no pumps should be formed
  13. Cover the pan keep it for 5 minutes
  14. Take the mixture into a dough
  15. Kaned it while it's hot
  16. Take a small tennis ball size dough and roll it into small bowl
  17. Roll into the shape of Modak
  18. Meanwhile take 1 Inch water in idli cooker and bring into boil
  19. Take a pat put a dish on it put a wet cloth on dish
  20. Now put Modak on this wet cloth
  21. Put this pot into idli cooker
  22. Close the cooker for 15 to 20 minutes
  23. Remove the lid and take out the Modak
