Urad dal wadi fried in mustard oil cooked on slow fire with fresh drumstick and potato.. make me remember the taste and aroma tgat I grew up eating. A recipe close to my heart

Heat up oil fry wadi till dark brown but not burn, break it in 3-4 pieces
Cut potatoes lengthwise fry them without peeling off the skin if its new potatoes
Cut drumsticks, wash and keep, your basic preparation is done.
In same oil add cumin seeds, add onion and fry till it changes colour, add ginger-garlic paste, fry until raw smell is gone.
Remove skin of tomatoes(optional), f Grind to make puree, add this to pan, fry for 5 minutes
Add chilli, termeric, coriander powder and salt, fry until masala leaves oil, add fried broken wadi, potatoes and drumstick peices. Mix well.
Add hot water and cook with lid on.
Open and stir in between, add garam masala powder, add more hot water as per your liking. Cook until wadi gets soft.
Garnish with coriander leaves. Serve with roti or steam rice.
