ABOUT Prawn Thokku RECIPE

A simple and quick semi gravy dish which can be prepared using very basic inhouse ingredients.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Prawn 1/2 kg
  2. Chopped Onion 2 Nos.
  3. Chopped Tomatoes 2 Nos.
  4. Ginger garlic paste 3 spoons
  5. Red chilly powder 2 spoons
  6. Turmeric Powder 1/2 spoon
  7. Coriander Powder 1 spoons
  8. Oil 5 spoons
  9. Salt To taste
  10. Curry leaf 1 twig
  11. Jeera 1/2 spoon
  12. Mustard 1/2 spoon
  13. Coriander leaf To garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat 5 spoons of oil in a pan. Add mustard.
  2. Once it splutters, add cumin, chopped onions, saute well for 5 mins with salt.
  3. Add ginger garlic paste. Saute well until raw smell goes off.
  4. Add chopped tomatoes, when ut becomes mushy, add all the powders.
  5. Mix well and let it be in flame, until oil oozes out.
  6. Add cleaned and washed prawns, mix gently and cover with lid, which leaves water by its own.
  7. Let it cook and the water drains. Adjust with salt
  8. As a final touch, add curry leaf and coriander leaf. Give a quick stir and put off.
  9. Enjoy hot with steamed rice or Roti.
