ABOUT Indori Poha RECIPE

Poha or Beaten Rice which is rich is fiber, vitamin B, and minerals like calcium, zinc, iron, manganese, magnesium etc. Using this ingredient in Jai Ki Rasoi Se made very famous "Indori Poha" which very common breakfast dish mostly served with Jalebi.

Ingredients Serving: 8

  1. Beaten Rice (Poha) - 250 Grams
  2. Finely Chopped Onions (Barik Kata Pyaz) - 1 Cup
  3. Peanuts (Mungphali) - 20 Grams
  4. Finely Chopped Curry Leaves (Barik Kata Curry Patta) - 15 to 20 leaves
  5. Finely Chopped Green Coriander (Barik Kata Hara Dhaniya) - 1 Bunch
  6. Finely Chopped Green Chillies (Barik Kati Hari Mirch) - 3 to 4 Turmeric
  7. Powder (Haldi Powder) - 1 Tea Spoon
  8. Asafetida (Hing) - ½ Tea Spoon
  9. Roasted Chick Peas Powder (Bhuna Chana Powder) - 2 Table Spoon
  10. Cumin Mustard Seeds (Jeera Rai) - 1 Tea Spoon
  11. Lemon Juice (Nimbu Ka Ras) - 2 Table Spoon
  12. Oil - As Per Requirement
  13. Salt According to Taste

Instructions

  1. In a vessel add water and soak the beaten rice for 2 minutes. Squeeze the water from it and place it on a plate. Keep it aside so that they become fluffy
  2. Heat oil in a kadai or non-stick pan. Once the oil is hot add cumin and mustard seeds. Allow them to get crackled
  3. Now add finely chopped curry leave & green chillies, peanuts and asafetida. Mix all and cook till the peanuts turn golden brown
  4. Add turmeric powder and finely chopped onions. Mix and cook till onions become translucent
  5. At this stage add soaked beaten rice and mix them gently
  6. Add finely chopped green coriander and roasted chickpeas powder and add salt according to taste. Mix all and cook for 2 minutes. Finely add lemon juice and mix well
  7. The dish is ready to be served by garnishing with thin or barik sev
