This is a Tamil nadu snack that is made with rice rawa.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1 cup raw rice, washed and dried in the sun till it's dry
  2. 1 tsp toor dal
  3. 1/2 tsp jeera
  4. 1/2 tsp pepper
  5. 1/4 tsp methi seeds
  6. 1 tbsp fresh grated coconut
  7. 1 tsp mustard seeds
  8. 1 red chilli, broken
  9. A pinch of asfoetida
  10. Few curry leaves
  11. Oil to fry

Instructions

  1. Take a kadai and heat 2 tbsp oil, then add mustard seeds, red chilli, asfoetida, curry leaves, coconut, add double the water about 2 cups with salt.
  2. Once it boils, add 1 cup of rawa rice prepared and keep stirring till it absorbs the water.
  3. Make patties and shallow fry in the pan till they brown on both sides.
  4. Serve them with any chutney.
