This is one of my favourite combination to have when fasting!

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. For sabudana khichdi:
  2. Sabudana 1 cup soaked for atleast 5 hours
  3. 2 Potatoes cut into pieces
  4. 1/2 cup coarsely ground peanuts
  5. Rock salt to taste
  6. Ghee/oil 2 tbsp
  7. 1 tsp jeera
  8. 2-3 green chillies
  9. 10-12 curry leaves
  10. Coriander leaves as required
  11. Lemon juice 2 tsp
  12. For dry water chestnuts halwa:
  13. 2 tbsp ghee
  14. 1/2 cup dry singhade (water chestnuts) powder
  15. 1/4 cup sugar
  16. 1/2-3/4 cup milk
  17. About 1 tsp green cardamom powder and jaifal powder

Instructions

  1. For Sabudana khichdi:
  2. In a pan heat ghee/ oil add jeera n let it crackle.
  3. Add green chillies and curry leaves.
  4. Now add pieces of potatoes and cook them properly.
  5. Now add soaked sabudana and cook till it becomes a bit translucent.
  6. Switch off gas and add chopped coriander leaves and lemon juice.
  7. Mix it properly and serve it!
  8. For Dry water chestnuts halwa:
  9. Heat the ghee add dry singhade (water chestnuts) powder.
  10. Roast it till you get nice aroma.
  11. Add 1/4 cup sugar to it or according to your taste.
  12. Add milk and cook till the milk gets absorbed properly and starts leaving the sides of the container.
  13. Add green cardamom powder and jaifal powder
  14. Serve it hot it tastes too yummy!
