ABOUT Moong/ Pesarra ladoos RECIPE

Moong ladoos are my childhood favourite . A delicious , healthy snack with several health benefits . This is my Late grandma ‘s recipe . I share loads of memories with my grandmother while joining her in making the ladoo balls . Feeling excited in sharing this traditional recipe with others . A nutritive summer snack option for kids .

Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. Moong Dal 1 cup
  2. Sugar 1 cup
  3. Cardamom pods 4
  4. Ghee 1/4 cup
  5. Almonds 2 tablespoons chopped

Instructions

  1. Firstly powder 1 cup sugar and cardamom seeds into a fine powder . Take 1/2 cup of this powder for preparing ladoos .
  2. Heat a wide pan . Gently roast 1 cup moong dal under low flame till it releases aroma and turns slightly brown in colour . At this stage , switch off the flame . Allow it to cool completely .
  3. Grind this cooled Dal into a coarse powder . Needn’t be too coarse to handle .
  4. In a mixer bowl , take both the ground powders and mix well to ensure there are no lumps . Add chopped almonds .
  5. Melt ghee and keep adding this warm ghee in regular intervals , while mixing the powdered ingredients . If at all , you can’t hold into shape / balls , add about 1 tablespoon of warm ghee and make ladoos .
  6. Start making balls using your greased palms .
  7. Moong / Pesarra ladoos are ready to serve .
  8. The ladoos can be stored in an air tight container . Stays fresh for about two weeks .
