This garlic fish curry is typical in taste and healthy too.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Fish - half kg
  2. oil - 3-4 tbsp
  3. fenugreek - 1 tsp
  4. chopped onion - 100 gm
  5. chopped garlic - 50 gm
  6. tomato - 200 gm
  7. green chilli - 4
  8. chopped coriander & curry leaves - few
  9. tamarind - lemon size
  10. red chilli powder - 1tbsp
  11. coriander powder- 1 tbsp
  12. turmeric,pepper,cumin powders - each 1/2 tsp
  13. salt - to taste.

Instructions

  1. Clean, wash fish pieces and keep aside.
  2. Slice onion, tomato and garlic cloves.
  3. Heat oil in a mud satti, fry fenugreek slightly.
  4. Add curry leaves , onion and garlic, saute well.
  5. Add tomatoes and add salt to taste.Cook till soft.
  6. Add all masala powders.
  7. Saute well .
  8. Add tamarind juice and salt to taste.Add one more cup of water.Bring to boil for 5-7 minutes.Then add fish pieces.Cook for 5-7 minutes. Switch off.
  9. Traditional Garlic fish curry is ready. Serve with rice, chappathi,idli,dosa and appam.
