ABOUT Cherry Crumble RECIPE

This stone-fruit lends itself to deliciousness all around. This tart-sweet dessert is perfect with a scoop of ice cream

Ingredients Serving: 8

  1. 500 grams cherries
  2. 1 tsp vanilla extract
  3. 50 grams sugar
  4. For the crumble:
  5. 1 cup Flour
  6. 3/4 cup sugar
  7. 1 tsp vanilla extract
  8. 1/2 Cup Butter
  9. A pinch of salt
  10. 1/8 tsp nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Wash the cherries and pit them. In a bowl mix together the sugar, vanilla and cherry and keep aside.
  2. In a separate bowl mix together the flour and sugar and rub in the butter until it resembles bread crumbs. Add in the salt, nutmeg and vanilla
  3. Preheat an oven to 180 degree centigrade. In an oven-proof dish add all the cherry mix. Top it with the crumble and bake for 45 minutes to 1 hour or until the fruit is soft and the crumble on top crisp
  4. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream
