ABOUT Malaie methi matar RECIPE

Fenugreek leaves and green peas cooked in a rich creamy gravy flavoured with mild Indian spices. The sweetness from the cream help to balance out the bitterness from the methi leaves and the matar adds plenty of texture along with great taste.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1/2 cup blanched Methi leaves
  2. 1 cup green peas
  3. 2 medium size chopped onion
  4. 2 Chopped Green chillies
  5. 1 tblspn Ginger-Garlic paste
  6. 1 tspn garam masala powder
  7. 6-7 cashew nuts
  8. 1 tspn poppy seeds
  9. 1 tspn Cumin seeds
  10. 1 bayleaf
  11. 1 green cardamom
  12. 1 black cardamom
  13. 2 cloves
  14. 1 cup milk
  15. 2 tblspn fresh cream
  16. 1 tspn honey
  17. Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in kadhaie. Add cumin seed and saute.
  2. Now add chopped onion.
  3. Add  Green chilli and ginger - garlic paste and stir well
  4. Now add cashew nuts and poppy seeds and saute
  5. Add garam masala powder and saute few second. Turn off the flame.
  6. Now make a smooth paste of the mixture.
  7. Heat oil in kadhaie. Add bayleaf  , green cardamom, black cardamom and cloves.
  8. Now add blanched fenugreek leaves and fry well.
  9. Add green peas and salt according to taste. And cook few min.
  10. Add masala  paste and stir well.
  11. Add milk and cook in slow flame.
  12. Now add freash cream and honey, cook few minutes turn off the flame.
  13. Enjoy
