Full chicken 1 kg
Boiled egg 4 nos
Marination Ingredients:
Curd 1 tbsp
Ginger-garlic paste 1 tbsp
Chilli powder 1 tbsp
Turmeric powder 1 tsp
Garam masala 1/2 tsp
Salt to taste
Egg masala Ingredients:
Onion chopped 2 nos
Ginger 1 tsp
Garlic 1 tsp
Tomato 1
Chilli powder 1 tbsp
Coriander powder 1 and 1/2 tbsp
Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
1 tsp garam masala
Chicken Gravy Ingredients:
Onion chopped 6 nos
Ginger 2 tbsp
Garlic 1 tbsp
Tomato 3 nos
Chilli powder 2 tbsp
Coriander powder 3 tbsp
Turmeric powder 1/2 tbsp
Garam masala 1 tbsp
Asofaetida 1/2 tsp
Coriander leaves to garnish
Oil as required
Salt to taste
Instructions
Prick the chicken all over with a fork (for better marination) and marinate the chicken. Keep it aside for 30 mins.
To prepare the egg masala, add the oil and saute the onion, then add ginger, garlic and tomato. Next, add the masalas and prepare the gravy by adding a little water. Bring it to boil then add the boiled eggs.
Cut open the stomach portion of the marinated chicken and stuff it with the egg masala. Stitch the cut with a thread and needle. (Remember to remove this stitch before serving.)
Now heat a wide pan to prepare the chicken gravy, saute the onion, ginger, garlic and tomato. Add the masalas, once the masalas get sauted well add a little water and prepare a thin consistency gravy.
Place the whole chicken (remember to tie both legs) in the gravy. With the help of a spoon keep pouring the gravy over it.
Close with a lid and let it simmer and cook in a low flame until the chicken is cooked well. Meanwhile keep pouring the gravy over the chicken.
Finally when the whole gravy gets dried (absence of water) and covers the chicken, the dish is done. Sprinkle chopped coriander leaves to garnish and serve it hot.
