A traditional Kerala dish & an inevitable one for all sadhyas, especially onam.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Raw Bananas 2
  2. Jaggery 200g
  3. water 1/4 cup
  4. Powdered sugar 3 tbsp
  5. Jeera powder 1tsp
  6. Dry ginger powder 1tsp
  7. Oil to deep fry.

Instructions

  1. Peel & Cut bananas lengthwise. Chop each piece into 1/4 inch pieces.keep in water.
  2. Heat oil in a pan .deep fry banana pieces. Cook for about 10 min on slow fire. Check one piece if it s crispy. If not fry for some more time.
  3. Remove from fire.
  4. Heat another pan.add jaggery with water. Boil till it s two string consistency.
  5. Add fried pieces stir well. Reduce heat .
  6. When it s almost dry add jeera & dry ginger powder. Stir well.
  7. Then add powdered sugar. Stir well till each piece is separated. Adding sugar help to make the chips separate.
  8. Store in airtight container. It will last for more days.
