Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. 2 boiled potatoes
  2. 1 onion
  3. 1 tsp oil
  4. 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
  5. 7-8 curry leaves
  6. 1 green chilli
  7. salt, to taste
  8. 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  9. 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  10. 1/2 tsp garam masala powder
  11. 1 cup gram flour or besan
  12. 1/2 tsp salt
  13. 1/2 tsp carrom seeds
  14. 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  15. pinch baking soda
  16. water, as required
  17. oil, to fry
  18. tomato sauce, as required
  19. imli chutney, as required
  20. Pav, to serve

Instructions

  1. In a pan, heat oil and add mustard seeds and curry leaves.
  2. Add onion and sauté till translucent.
  3. Add grated potatoes and green chilli and sauté.
  4. Add salt, turmeric powder, red chilli powder and garam masala powder and mix well.
  5. Switch off the gas and let it cool.
  6. In a bowl, take besan and add salt, red chilli powder, baking soda and carrom seeds.
  7. Make a batter with water.
  8. Make small balls from the potatoes mix and flatten them a little.
  9. Coat these balls in besan mix and fry them in a wok with oil on medium flame till brown.
  10. Slit the Pav in middle and apply your favourite chutney one either side, put a vada in between and serve hot.
