ABOUT Home made 100% Semolina bread RECIPE

Bread with Semolina seems surprising but yes it's possible. Till you bake it yourself, bread baking is always a dream. But you must try and taste the comforting home made bread yourself. The taste, the aroma is soo divine. In these days of health consciousnous comfort food is almost become impossible. But with this 100% Semolina bread even that fear can be eliminated. No maida at all. The best part of this receipe is the amount of yeast used. Many do not like the smell of yeast and here minimal amount is used. So bake your own bread and a tasty sandwich with fresh slices cut from it.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Semolina - 400 gms(fine)
  2. Water - 1 cup and 1 or 2 tbsps
  3. Sugar - 1 tsp
  4. Yeast - 1/2 tsp
  5. salt - 1 tsp
  6. Oil - 2 tbsps

Instructions

  1. Add salt to the rava. Mix and keep aside
  2. Add the yeast and sugar to lukewarm warm, cover and keep for 15 minutes
  3. After 15 minutes the yeast will bloom. Now add this mixture to the rava. Mix with a spatula. Cover and keep aside for 10 minutes. Do not knead.
  4. After 10 minutes take the blob of dough and put on your clean kitchen platform. Knead it now with oil by stretching it and pulling front and back with both your hands. If dough keeps sticking just moisten your hands and continue.
  5. Knead it for around 10 minutes. Make a smooth ball, apply oil all over. Grease a deep bowl with oil and put the dough in it. Cover with a cling wrap and keep in a warm place for Atleast 2 hours or till the dough doubles.
  6. Now Take the dough and gently punch it and knead for 1 to 2 minutes.
  7. Roll into a rectangle. Now roll from one side and seal the seam by pinching. Grease a 8 by 4 inches loaf tin and place the dough. Leave it to rise till it reaches the brim Atleast.
  8. Now brush with water and bake in a preheated oven at 180 ° for 35 to 40 minutes.
  9. In the last few minutes brush with butter and increase the temperature to 220 for a perfect browning and crust.
  10. Remove and brush again with butter. Demould. Cover with a moist clean kitchen towel and let it cool completely before slicing for clean cuts.
  11. Try leaving for 2 to 3 hours to cool completely.
