Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. 500 gm bottlegourd or lauki
  2. 2 tomatoes
  3. 1 tbsp oil
  4. 1 tsp cumin seeds
  5. 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  6. 1/2 tsp coriander powder
  7. 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  8. 1-2 green chillies
  9. 1 tbsp coriander

Instructions

  1. Peel and chop the bottlegourd into pieces.
  2. Make purée from the tomatoes in a blender.
  3. Ina pressure cooker heat oil, add cumin seeds.
  4. As they crackle, add chopped bottlegourd and sauté for a min.
  5. Add tomato purée , salt and other dry spices and sauté well for 2-3 mins.
  6. Add a little water if required to make a slight gravy.
  7. Pressure cook it for 2 whistles and then on low flame for 5 mins.
  8. Garnish with coriander and serve hot.
