Spicy masala curry , a perfect side dish for idli, dosa, chapathi.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Oil - 1 teaspoon
  2. Mustard seeds - 1 teaspoon
  3. Hing
  4. Curry leaves
  5. Onion -1
  6. Tomato -2
  7. Salt - as needed
  8. Turmeric powder- 1/2 teaspoon
  9. Coconut (grated) - 4 teaspoon
  10. Fried grams - 2 teaspoon
  11. Fennel seeds - 1 teasoon
  12. Green chillies - 3
  13. Cinnamon stick -2
  14. Cloves -1
  15. Water - 1 or 1.5 cup
  16. Coriander leaves - to garnish

Instructions

  1. Chop onion and tomatoes, set aside.
  2. In a mixie jar add coconut, fried gram, cinnamon stick, cloves and fennel seeds. Grind it to a smooth paste.set aside
  3. Take a pan , add oil. When it begins to splutter add curry leaves ,hing . Saute it for a min and add onion.
  4. Saute till it turns translucent.
  5. Add tomatoes and saute well till it becomes mushy.
  6. Add turmeric powder and salt.mix it well and add a cup of water.
  7. When water starts boiling add coconut paste. Allow the curry to boil. Turn off the heat and Garnish with coriander leaves. Serve hot with dosa, idly.
