ABOUT Aaloo methi RECIPE

This is an easy and delicious side dish, made with potatoes and fenugreek leaves. This can be served with some roti or rice & dal as well.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Chopped methi [fenugreek] leaves 1 bowl
  2. 1/2 bowl aloo [potatoes] cut into small cubes.
  3. Salt [according to taste]
  4. 1 tspn Red chilli powder
  5. 1/2 tspn garam masala
  6. 1tspn amchur powder
  7. 2 tspn oil
  8. 1 tspn jeera [cumin seeds]
  9. 1tspn hing [asafoetida]

Instructions

  1. Heat a wok with some oil.
  2. Add hing and cumin seeds, let them splutter.
  3. Put the potatoes and give it a stir. Saute for few minutes and then add the chopped fenugreek leaves.
  4. Now put salt, red chilli powder and mix it.
  5. Cover it with lid.
  6. After 5 to 10 mins, open the lid.
  7. When it is done, sprinkle garam masala and amchur powder on it..
  8. Mix it very well.
  9. After 2 or 3 mins ,it is ready to serve.
  10. Serve it with hot chapati and nimbu ki adrak.
  11. lemon juice and ginger also gives tangy taste. You can add them as well or avoid both.
