ABOUT PANEER GREEN CHILLI TANGY MASALA RECIPE

Paneer is a favourite food to many. For many a North Indian, a paneer dish is a must have. Down South too, many people love eating paneer, more so the vegetarians. Here, I have tried to bring in some flavours that cater to the palate of south Indians even meat eaters who love their food hot, spicy and tangy. This recipe leaves a rich taste even after you have finished eating. You could have it a little more gravy like with pulao. We had it poori and rice. Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Oil 2 tbsp
  2. Green chillies 10
  3. Mustard seeds 1 tsp
  4. Curry leaves a few
  5. Onions 1 cup
  6. Turmeric powder ¼ tsp
  7. Ginger garlic paste 2 tsp
  8. Salt 2 tsp
  9. Capsicum 2 big size chopped
  10. Paneer 250 gms cut into cubes
  11. Water 1 cup

Instructions

  1. PREPARATION In a kadai, heat 2 tbsps of oil. Add slit green chillies, fry them for a minute and transfer them into a mixie jar. To the same oil, add mustard seeds, curry leaves and fry them. Now add chopped onions and fry them till they ar
  2. are transparent. Add ginger garlic paste now, mix well and add turmeric powder.
  3. For the green masala, add sesame seeds, peanuts, coriander seeds, cumin seeds, coconut powder and lemon sized tamarind into the jar with fried green chillies
  4. Add water and grind till smooth paste.
  5. Add this ground green chilli masala paste into the onion mixture in the pan. Add water and mix well. Add salt to taste.
  6. Close the lid and cook on low flame for 10 minutes. Once the paste is cooked for 5 minutes add chopped capsicum and continue to cook.
  7. Finally add paneer cubes, some water and cook till the oil leaves the sides of the pan.
  8. The Paneer Green Chilli Masala curry is ready to be served with pulao or chappati.
