ABOUT Chocolate barfi RECIPE

A delicious, fudgy chocolate barfi made with mawa and loved by kids and adults alike

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. 1/2 kg mawa
  2. 5 tbsp cocoa powder
  3. 1/3 cup milk
  4. 1/2 cup sugar
  5. Almond slivers for garnishing

Instructions

  1. Crumble or grate the mawa so that no lumps remain.
  2. In a heavy bottomed pan heat the mawa on a medium flame till it becomes soft and starts to melt.
  3. Make sure not to but or brown the mawa.
  4. Add the sugar and milk into the mawa and mix well. Keep stirring so that the mixture doesn't stick to the bottom.
  5. Cook on a medium flame till the mixture thickens. This will take about 8-9 minutes.
  6. Add the cocoa powder and mix well. Cook for another 2-3 minutes.
  7. Pour the mixture in a greased pan and sprinkle almond slivers on top.
  8. Keep in the fridge for a few hours to set. Slice into pieces when set.
