ABOUT Hyderabadi Tamater Ki Chutney... RECIPE

A simple and a easy side dish that goes well with plain boiled rice, rotis and parathas. It is made with easily available pantry staples in every Indian kitchen. Ripe tomatoes are best for this recipe and therefore make this in a larger quantity when they are in season.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Tomatoes chopped 7-8
  2. Salt 1 tsp
  3. Ginger garlic paste 1 tsp
  4. Turmeric 1/2 tsp
  5. Green chillies chopped 4
  6. Red chilli powder 1 tbsp
  7. Cumin seeds 1 tsp
  8. Black mustard seeds 1 tsp
  9. Oil 4-5 tbsp
  10. Curry leaves 1/4th cup

Instructions

  1. Heat a kadai with oil.
  2. Add cumin and mustard seeds.
  3. Also add curry leaves.
  4. After they crackle, add chopped green chillies and tomatoes.
  5. Followed by the rest of the spices.
  6. Cover and cook on medium flame.
  7. After 15-20 minutes, open the lid and saute it until it dries up on a high heat by stirring it.
  8. Saute it until oil starts floating on top.
  9. Adjust salt according to taste.
  10. Serve this as a side dish to many a meals.
