Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. organic chicken (naatu kodi) 1 kg
  2. 5 onions chopped
  3. 2 tomatoes chopped
  4. 4 green chillies
  5. curry leaves (as required)
  6. 2tbs ginger garlic paste
  7. oil as required
  8. 3-4 elachi
  9. cinnamon stick
  10. 4 cloves
  11. 1/2 teaspoon turmeric
  12. salt to taste
  13. 2 spoons chillie powder
  14. 1 spoon coriander powder
  15. 1/2 teaspoon Garam masala
  16. 1 tbs khus khus
  17. 1/2 cup coconut
  18. coriander to garnish

Instructions

  1. soak khus khus in a bowl and keep it aside
  2. heat the kadai add oil and after minute add the spices ( elaichi (crushed) cinnamon and cloves) together
  3. now add onion green chillies and curry leaves and sauté it until onions are cooked well (turns brown)
  4. now add ginger garlic paste to it and sauté until the raw smell of the paste is gone
  5. now add the tomatoes sauté it until cooked
  6. add the chicken and stir it so all the ingredients are blended into each other nicely ,now add turmeric powder and salt as per taste and stir well and place the lid and let it cook for 10 mins
  7. meanwhile finely grind the soaked khus khus and coconut in to a fine paste
  8. now you can see the chicken shedding water now
  9. add the khus khus and coconut mix into the gravy and stir well
  10. now add chillie powder and some water to make it more gravier now place the lid on the kadai let it cook for 5 mins
  11. now add coriander powered and garam masala powder and mix it well and let it cook for 10 more minutes until derailed consistency is achieved
  12. add coriander leaves to garnish and serve hot with rotis or rice
