ABOUT Instant Wheat rava idli RECIPE

First I prepared this dish with bombai ravva(semolina). But I liked this dish with wheat Ravva instead of bombai ravva r sooji. So now I am posting the same dish.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Wheat ravva - 1cup
  2. Curd                - 1/2 cup
  3. Cooking soda - 1/2 tsp
  4. Ginger grated - 1 tsp
  5. Green chillies( finely chopped)     - 1 1/2 tsp
  6. Vermicelli        - 1/4 cup
  7. Carrot grated  - 4 tbsp
  8. Salt to taste
  9. Water as required
  10. Oil to grease idle plate.
  11. For Tempering:
  12. Oil                                    - 1 tsp
  13. Urad dal (black gram)  - 1/2 tsp
  14. Mustard seeds             - 1/4 tsp
  15. Jeera (Cumin seeds)       - 1/4 tsp
  16. Curry leaves                    - 2-3
  17. Fresh coriander              - 1 tsp

Instructions

  1. In a vessel add all the ingredients. 
  2. Add lil water to bring it as idle batter ( i.e not watery , not thick , just as moderate).
  3. Take a pan heat oil n add all Tempering.
  4. Add this Tempering to idle batter.
  5. Leave it for 2 mins.Mean while grease the idle plates with lil oil.
  6. Now add idle batter to plates n put in idle cocker n on stove for 5 mins. See once in between if cooked.
  7. Remove from plates n serve hot ravva idles.
  8. These idles we can take it with any pickles r chutneys.
