Ingredients Serving: 6
Sooji/Rava - 1 1/2 cups
Fresh curd - 1 1/2 cups
Water as required (for batter consistency)
Green chillies - 2 chopped
Ginger - 1 inch chopped
Chana dal - 4 tbsp
Cashew broken - 2 tbsps
Salt to taste
Lemon - 1
Coriander - few springs
Baking soda - 1/2 tsp
For temoering:
Oil - 1 tsp
Mustard seeds-1 tsp
Asfotedia - 1 pinch
Curry leaves few
For the green chutney:
Dessicated coconut - 1/4 cup
Coriander - 1 bunch/ (200 GMS)
Green chilie - 1
Ginger - 1/2 inch
Salt to taste
Sugar - 1/2 tsp
Water little to grind
For tempering :
Oil - 1 tsp
Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
Asfotedia - 1 pinch
Curry leaves few
Instructions
Mix the sooji with curd, green chillies, ginger, water and salt. Leave it aside for Atleast 1/2 an hour.
Soak the dal and cashew in 2 cups of water
After 1/2 an hour add water for required batter consistency. Add the soaked dal and cashew. Give a nice mix
Keep dhokla stand ready with water boiling. Or can even make it in rice cooker.( Place a thick ring in the rice cooker. Pour water half way to ring, heat it and then keep the dhokla plate.Cover and cook)
Prepare the dhokla plate / stand by greasing with a spoon of oil
Add baking soda to the batter and give a mix gently. Pour the mixture on the plate
Keep the plate to cook for around 5 minutes
Make the chutney by Grinding all ingredients mentioned with some water
Temper the dhoklas with oil, mustard seeds, asfotedia and curry leaves.
Temper the chutney the same way
Serve hot dhokla with delicious dhokla chutney
