ABOUT Spring Onion Pakoras... RECIPE

A pure bliss that cannot be missed. These are juicy succulent and crisp pakoras made purely out of spring onions. They just make any tea party come alive with their vibrant colour and tempting looks. Simple to make and with some easily available pantry staples, these make for a great snack idea.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Gram flour 1 1/2 cups
  2. Spring onion bunches finely chopped 2
  3. Salt 1 tsp
  4. Ginger garlic paste 1 tsp
  5. Asafoetida 1/8th tsp
  6. Red chilli powder 1 tsp
  7. Green chillies chopped 2
  8. Turmeric 1/2 tsp
  9. Cumin powder 1 tsp
  10. Baking soda 1/4th tsp
  11. Water 1/2 cup

Instructions

  1. Make a semi thick batter using all the ingredients and keep aside for atleast 30 minutes.
  2. It is a necessary step for the flavours to merge in and also for crispy pakoras.
  3. Water depends upon the quality of the gram flour. So add it as required.
  4. Do not make it a thin batter or a thicker one. It should be a semi thick one without any excess water dripping.
  5. Deep fry in batches turning them often to ensure even frying.
  6. Serve them hot at tea-time with chai.
