ABOUT Jowar Dates Ladoo RECIPE

Dates are a good source of various vitamins and minerals, energy, sugar, and fiber. It has low glycemic index hence can be consumed safely by Diabetic patients too. Dates are good for pregnant women and kids. Jowar is a high-end source of phosphorus, calcium, protein and fibre. The presence of iron and copper helps regulate proper blood circulation, which fuels cell growth, hair repair and enhances overall functioning of the body. These ladoos do not contain additional sugar and are highly nutritous.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. 1/2 cup jowar (sorghum) flour
  2. Dates 12-14
  3. water- 1/2 cup
  4. Ghee 3tsp
  5. 4tbsp chopped nuts (almonds, cashews etc) (optional)

Instructions

  1. Deseed and finely chop the dates
  2. In a pan, add 1 tsp ghee and fry the nuts until golden brown - this step is optional
  3. Add chopped dates and water in a pan. Stir well on low-medium flame. Once the water is absorbed and dates becomes mushy, keep it aside
  4. In a pan, add 1 tsp ghee and roast jowar flour on low flame until its aromatic. Add dates and nuts and mix well, stir for 2 mins on low flame
  5. Allow it to slightly cool. smear remaining ghee on your hands and start making ladoos. Do not allow the mixture to cool completely else it will not be possible to make ladoo. store in air tight container
