ABOUT Scrumptious Mysore Bonda... RECIPE

These are famous flour dumplings with curd and some selected spices and are a popular snack from Karnataka State and are also equally famous in Andhra and Telangana States. These are soft from inside and have a crunchy exterior. Tastes yummy with coconut chutney alongside.

Ingredients Serving: 7

  1. All purpose flour 2 cups
  2. Sour curd or buttermilk 1 1/4th cups
  3. Salt 1 tsp
  4. Fresh coconut pieces 3/4th cup
  5. Grated ginger 1 tbsp
  6. Crushed cumin seeds 1 tsp
  7. Rice flour 1/2 cup
  8. Baking soda 1/4th tsp
  9. Green chillies chopped 2 to 3
  10. Coriander leaves chopped 1/4th cup
  11. Water if required some

Instructions

  1. Combine all the ingredients in a mixing bowl.
  2. Make a thick batter using all.
  3. Set aside for 15 minutes.
  4. On a medium high heat, deep fry them dropping small balls few at a time in hot oil.
  5. Wet your hands a little before dropping them in oil.
  6. Make medium sized dumplings as these will rise a little after frying.
  7. Serve them hot with coconut chutney alongside.
