Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Turnip chopped 500gm
  2. Tomato 2 medium sized chopped
  3. Peas 1 small bowl (can take frozen also if you have at home)
  4. Ginger julliens cut nicely few needed (2-3teaspoon full)
  5. Oil 1 karchi
  6. Water as required
  7. Cumin seeds 1/2teaspoon
  8. Green chillies chopped 2
  9. Coriander leaves chopped some add in between and some will use later at the time of garnishing
  10. Salt to taste
  11. Red chillie powder 1/4teaspoon
  12. Garam masala powder 1/4teaspoon
  13. Turmeric powder 1/4teaspoon
  14. Coriander powder 1/4teaspoon
  15. Hing a pinch
  16. Sugar 1/2teaspoon
  17. Lemon for garnishing

Instructions

  1. Ingredients used
  2. Cut this way
  3. Take cooker add oil
  4. Take ginger julliens
  5. Put inside the cooker
  6. Take jeera, put inside
  7. Take chopped tomatoes
  8. Put inside and mix well
  9. Take peas
  10. Again mix well, keep on sim flame for few minutes
  11. Take chopped green chillies
  12. Add this also, and mix well
  13. At the same time now add spices one by one except salt, first put red chillie powder
  14. Now Turmeric powder
  15. Now garam masala powder
  16. Lastly coriander powder
  17. Now mix well,oil will come out
  18. At this time add salt
  19. Add sugar
  20. Take chopped turnip
  21. Put inside the cooker
  22. Mix well properly
  23. Take coriander leaves
  24. Put inside
  25. Mix well
  26. The dish will look like this and the oil will come out nicely this time
  27. Add hing a pinch
  28. Add water to it
  29. This way use the water, not too much needed
  30. Take the cooker lid
  31. Close well and give 2 whistles
  32. When steam is out, open the lid slowly, and using masher...mash it lightly
  33. Finally take out sweet and sour turnip bharta in a serving dish and serve hot garnished with coriander leaves and lemon
