ABOUT Chinese pakoda RECIPE

The Indian pakoda gets a little chinese twist, a perfect snack with the evening tea.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Grated cabbage 1 cup
  2. Grated carrots 1/2 cup
  3. Chopped spring onions 1/2 cup
  4. Chopped capsicum 1/2 cup
  5. Chopped green chillies 1 tablespoon
  6. Chopped ginger 1 1/2 tablespoons
  7. Chopped garlic 1 1/2 tablespoon
  8. Salt as per your taste
  9. Red chill powder 1/2 tablespoon
  10. Maida 2 tablespoons
  11. Rice flour 2 tablespoons
  12. Corn flour 1 tablespoon
  13. Soya sauce 1/4 tablespoon
  14. Tomato sauce 1/2 tablespoon
  15. Water as required
  16. Oil for deep frying

Instructions

  1. In a bowl add cabbage, carrots, capsicum, spring onions, green chillies, ginger, garlic, red chili powder salt, soya sauce, tomato sauce, maida, rice flour and corn flour and mix well.
  2. Make a batter with the help of water. Batter should not be thin. The batter should be of thick consistency.
  3. Heat oil in a pan or kadai. Keep the flame medium. When the oil become hot. Take a small portion. Press it in your palm and fry on medium flame till it become golden brown.
  4. Serve hot with your choice of sauce.
