Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Bread - 4 slice
  2. Clarified butter - 1 cup
  3. For syrup
  4. Sugar - 1 cup
  5. Water - 1 cup
  6. Cardamom powder - 1/4 tsp
  7. Saffron - few strands
  8. For rabri
  9. Milk - 1.5 cup
  10. Mawa /whole dried milk - 250 gms
  11. Sugar - 2 - 3 tbsp
  12. Saffron - few strand
  13. Roughly chopped cashew nuts - 1 tbsp
  14. Raisins - 1 tbsp

Instructions

  1. Cut the edges of the bread.
  2. Heat clarified butter in a pan.
  3. Deep fry the bread slice until golden brown and strain it.
  4. For sugar syrup
  5. Heat sugar and water in a pan.
  6. Keep in medium flame for 8 - 10 mins.
  7. Add saffron strands and cardamom powder.
  8. When it gets thick and two strain consistency means syrup is ready.
  9. Soak the fried bread slice in the sugar syrup and place in a plate
  10. For rabri
  11. Heat milk in a heavy bottom vessel.
  12. When it boils keep in a low flame.
  13. Add mawa/whole dried milk,saffron and sugar and mix well
  14. When it gets semi thick we take it one cup.
  15. And when it gets thick we switch off the gas.
  16. Pour the hot rabri over the bread and semi thick hot rabri pour in the side of the bread.
  17. Garnish with cashew nuts and raisins.
  18. Serve after an hour.
